Keys and Keying
ProAble Hardware Specialties can create keying systems both in-house and in partner with industry leading manufacturers. This allows us to easily integrate with existing systems, or to create new, user friendly systems designed around your needs.
Current Transfers
Current Transfers create a bridge for electrical current between the frame and door when electrified hardware, such as an electric lockset, is used. They are available in three main variations:
- Electric Hinges
- Concealed Current Transfers
- Surface Mounted Current Transfers
Electric Unlocking Mechanisms
Electric Unlocking Mechanisms accomplish the actual unlocking of a door. They are available in three main variations:
- Electric Strikes
- Electric Locksets and Exit Devices
- Maglocks
Credential Readers
Credential Readers are used in conjunction with user associated credentials to identify an individual to the access control system. They available in five main variations:
Credentials
Credentials are available in two main physical variations:
- Cards; these are similar in size to a credit card, they are available in proximity or magnetic stripe technology, and can be printed with information such as corporate logo or employee pictures.
- Key Fobs; these are designed to be attached to a key ring, they are available in proximity or ibutton technology.
Keypads and biometric readers still require credentials, but these do not require purchase as they take the form of PIN numbers or a user’s physical characteristic.
Power Supplies
Power supplies convert 110VAC to 12/24VDC. They are generally supplied in a steel enclosure that has been inspected and certified. Power supplies also have battery charging circuits, so that with the addition of backup batteries, a system will continue to operate in the event of a power failure.
