Hollow Metal
With in-house fabricating for our hollow metal frames and doors, ProAble Hardware Specialties can, professionally, meet your design needs. With experienced staff, and our quality control program, we can ensure that the product delivered to the jobsite is exactly how it was envisioned.
We purchase from some of the most recognized, and respected manufacturers of hollow metal, to offer the best quality products available. All material is made to meet ASTM standards A1008/A1008M, and A653/A653M, with a zinc coating of a minimum of A25 for long lasting, durable protection, and lifespan.
Frames
Our warehouse is stocked with frame material to suit your size required, and wall construction from standard 3-5/8” stud with drywall either side, to 6” or 8” concrete block. If your wall construction is out of the ordinary, we can have the profile manufactured to ensure the proper fit, and appearance.
Our stock AS series welded frame material is made from 16 gauge metal to withstand the daily wear, and abuse that frames are subjected to. Professionally welded, and ground to a smooth finish, our frames are primed and ready for painting.
To complement our welded frame material, we also stock 3-piece knockdown, DW series frames. These frames are supplied, so that they can be installed after the walls, and drywall are installed. They are available in 18 gauge, and are made for easy installation.
Doors
The correct hollow metal door will give you years of trouble free use. We offer 20 gauge for light duty doors, and 18 gauge for standard to heavy use doors in many different sizes. We stock these doors with honeycomb core for interior doors, and styrene core (R6.3) for exterior doors.
In addition to our stock door program, we offer many more options through our manufactures. From 16gauge steel stiffened cores doors, perfect to withstand the abuse from schools, or arenas, polyurethane core (R11) doors for a better insulating factor, or temperature rise core to withstand the heat of a fire, we can supply you the perfect door for whatever situation you may have.
Our experienced staff will prepare your door for the proper hardware, door lites, louvers, etc., ready for hanging, and finishing.
Fire Rating Limitations
Hollow metal frames, and doors come in three fire rating designations: ¾ hour, 1 ½ hour, and 3 hour. Each rating has different limitations that must be adhered to in order to obtain that rating. Please click here for a quick reference guide to fire ratings dimensioning.
